Ready, set...GO !

We have talked for so long and with so many people about our move to Canada that it has become more of a story to me than reality. However, with only four days left before our departure, the "story" is becoming very real very quickly !

Today finds us in a state of preparation, readying our luggage, our finances, and our hearts for the upcoming move. While we can both be rather spontaneous, and we are quite good at jumping into things last-minute, David and I agree with Mr. Lincoln and his view on preparation; any job well done requires much forethought, wisdom, and planning. Thus, it is with that mindset that we are getting ready to go !

We spent the last week visiting various parts of Switzerland with the (extended) Boyum clan, and finished off their time here celebrating our second wedding on March 4th! We were SO grateful to have time where both of our families could share delicious food and great conversations together (something we don't expect to happen too often in the future). Now, our apartment is once again empty, and our belongings are strewn about in the lovely process of packing. In the midst of the craziness of an international move, I have stopped to reflect on our time here in Switzerland, and I am so grateful for everything we experienced and learned. There's nothing like the first three months of marriage, and this was a special place to live them out with David.

We rejoice to be in Canada and explore the new things God has prepared for us there, but we also taste the bitterness of goodbye as each time we see friends now involves saying farewell. We feel connected to a beautiful community here, and it is difficult to leave.

As David says, if we were to listen to our emotions we might very well just stay put ! But as Mother Teresa said, "even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there." So we are moving forward with what God has put in our hearts and minds, and we expect great things to come with the future !
