The spring came suddenly

bursting upon the world as a

child bursts into the room

with a laugh and a shout

and hands full of flowers !

Our most recent piece of news deserved its very own blog post, but it is certainly time for a more detailed update !

But to start, a few FAQs about Mini-Therisod:

1. How long have we known ? -I took a pregnancy test on March 13th, on the airplane from London to Montreal.

2. When is the due date ? We won't have a more accurate estimate until the ultrasound in June, but the rough timeline is end of October-start of November ! (I'm around 15 weeks along).

3. Have we heard the heartbeat ? YES. There are few things more miraculous than the experience of hearing that sound !

4. Where will the baby be born ? Joliette ! A little Canadian !

Future parents !

I'm thankfully making my way out of the first trimester, and thus my energy has been returning, and other symptoms have decreased. I don't have medical insurance yet, but have been blessed with a pastor who is also a doctor, and has seen me twice for free. I will have insurance at the start of June and can start my official prenatal visits. Thank you for praying for our little one !

David and I are doing well, keeping busy, and feeling more settled into our new life ! We are learning and growing a lot, but it's starting to feel more like home !

Recent highlights:

1. Elise has joined the church worship team and LOVES glorifying the Lord while leading other's into His presence.

2. David participated in an Easter theatrical performance at our church, using his creative talents to bless the congregation and share the gospel !

3. Jeff and Kathy (Elise's parents) came to teach at the PCYM school for a week, and it was a blast to learn from them and have some fun at the same time ! (This was also when they learned that they will soon have another grandchild !).

4. Dale Kauffman, founder of King's Kids International, came to teach at the PCYM and stayed with us during the week. It was such a blessing to have him share his wisdom and revelations with us !

5.David and I sang at the ministry "La Petite Cuillere," which provides a three-course dinner with a musical performance for only five dollars every Sunday. The people who attend are in difficult financial situations, and the ministry uses the opportunity to serve them and share a Biblically-based message each week. We enjoyed performing together, and David also shared a testimony and message encouraging us to look for the Image of God in ourselves and in others. 6. We, along with Jeff, Kathy, Dale, and other staff and students from the PCYM, organized and led a weekend family camp with families from around Quebec. We taught about the value and importance of families in the Kingdom of God, about how we can be a blessing as a family, and about how to strengthen our marriages and families. We had fun activities, worship, and team-building challenges.

7. We attended the annual YWAM gathering in Dunham, Quebec. Along with having a summary of the administrative aspects of the ministry, we had times of worship and fun together to promote unity amongst us ! It was great to meet our coworkers and to have refreshing times with the Lord.

Thank you for continuing to pray for us during this exciting time of life ! Our current prayer requests:

-For our baby, and that the Lord would prepare us for the new adventure of parenthood !

-For Elise's health insurance to be processed without any problems!

-For continued unity among our team here in Joliette.

-Strength during the long and busy weeks of the PCYM.

-Guidance from the Lord for our specific ministry steps after the school ends in May.

-Grace for Elise as she begins to pursue a Quebec work permit and nursing license.

-David and I long to make friendships with people around our age, but the community we've discovered so far is a bit older. Please pray that God would lead us and help us make some encouraging connections !

Blessings to you all, and have a wonderful spring season !

(Below: David's newest treasure. Thanks Ben for your incredible generosity ! Now it's time for some Youtube tutorials !).
