And then there were three

I am in awe
I am in joy
I am in love
I searched for a quote about parenting to place at the beginning of this post, but then realized that most of them gave the same basic message: parenting is hard, it teaches sacrifice, and it fills your heart in an unimaginable way. Jude Elliott, born October 31st, has already begun revealing these truths to David and I as we start on this adventure of parenthood and welcome the newest member of our family.
We are absolutely in love with our little treasure, and each day our hearts seem to grow with the expansion of joy and wonder within. To think that this little man started as two microscopic cells only nine short months ago, and is now an adorable bundle in our arms who eats, sleeps, pees and poops; who has a heart and a spirit, and who will one day be capable of having a child of his own:
WOW.
Only God could orchestrate such a miracle !
We have made it through the first week and are starting to feel somewhat adjusted to life with a newborn. The first couple days were difficult (Jude likes to party at night !), but we have found ways to get our rest and keep our wits about us ! Aunt Eva arrived at midnight on the 31st (just a few hours before Jude's birth !) and then spent the entire first week with us: seeing firsthand the joys and struggles of having a baby. She was a blessing and a huge help !
Grandpa Jean-Luc and Great-Grandma Nelly are flying in from Switzerland tomorrow and will spend five days with us here. Then on the 14th Grandma Kathy will arrive, with Grandpa Jeff coming last on the 18th. We look forward to sharing this little one with our family and celebrating his life together !
We will post again soon about what's happening in ministry, but wanted to dedicate this update to our little guy ! Thank you for your prayers throughout the pregnancy and for the delivery. Please continue to pray for us as we adjust to this new lifestyle ! Please pray for adequate rest for mom and dad, continued health for Jude, and above all for the Holy Spirit to reveal himself to Mr. Jude Elliott more and more every day.
Jude,
Your name means "Praise," and "Jehovah is God." We pray that your life would truly be a life of praise to the one true God, and that those who surround you would see and know Him through your life. We are so proud and blessed to have the privilege of raising you. We will make many mistakes and will have to ask for your forgiveness often along the way, but we promise to do our best and rely on the Lord for the strength, wisdom, and guidance that we need !
